The Australian Italian Festival is celebrated annually and is a fantastic event that promotes, showcases and celebrates the cultural attributes of Italian migrants and descendants in the Hinchinbrook Shire and Australia.

Over the weekend, the TYTO Parklands will be transformed into a full-scale piazza with nonstop, world-class entertainment and competitions. It celebrates all things Italian – Food, Wine, and Song with Market Stalls, a Historical display, Spaghetti and Pizza eating challenges, a Greasy Pole Challenge, Pizza Twirling, play a game of Bocce and much more.

The 2023 entertainment will feature Paul Tabone returning to Australia from his latest overseas performances. Also, dance away to the traditional Italian folk band, Zumpa, Cosima De Vito, Fortunato and his band, Attori and many more. Would you like to learn traditional Italian dance? We have Carina Dancers and Taranta Meanjin Brisbane, who will run traditional dancing displays and workshops. Or would you like to learn how to cook like an Italian? The cooking demonstrations return this year.

For the children, there are free amusement rides, a live puppet show, and a circus workshop; Prima Spada will be there with their fencing demonstration and other exciting events. On-site will be market stalls, homemade, mouth-watering Italian food from professional chefs and the best local Italian Nonnas on sale!

The Festival is run by volunteers and is a celebration of our cultural heritage.
